Two of the greatest innovations of new Synapse
located in bottom bracket and just above it. The seatpost is split
asymmetrically before fusing with it, creating an arch that goes by the name
dynamic pyramid. The material is missing from the center of the tube positioned
on both formed columns, thus allowing a better air flow and an enlarged base
for the bottom bracket, which first exceeds 68 mm and reaches 73.
It houses a bracket barrel BB30A, which now enjoys even greater rigidity. The BB30
bearings moved 5 mm. outer from the left side, asymmetric increasing the width
of the bottom bracket and giving, the aforementioned rigidity.
Still, the biggest bottom bracket enables seatstays to open a little longer so they
can accept even tires 28 mm. For rainy days the Belgian spring and relaxed
long-distance rides. The asymmetrical design zoomed bracket allows
redistributed away from frame to the heel of the foot, in 10 mm on each side,
which until now could not be achieved, as the right side was slightly further
out to greet sprockets and chain.
Negative in this innovation is that the only cranksets at this moment that can
be combined with BB30A, are SiSl2 and Si 3D of Cannondale around 109 mm and
always under using a special adapter on the left side.
Also, the FSA is preparing new SLK Light and Gossamer crankset especially BB30A
and Campagnolo will build an adapter for existing BB30A the crank, so it seems
that more manufacturers already embraced this new innovation.
